At Maryland Jeet Kune Do, our mission is to impart the profound wisdom, physical resilience, and spiritual enlightenment encapsulated in the philosophy of our founder, Bruce Lee.
Serving Anne Arundel County, Howard County, and students worldwide since 2010, we are committed to the journey of mastering will, fortifying both body and spirit.
Jeet Kune Do is our path to simplicity and a tool to demolish obstacles that obstruct peace, justice, and humanity.
Our aim is not to foster aggression but to vanquish the impulses of self-preservation and to eliminate distractions to the mind, thereby nurturing an understanding of one's self.
We view Jeet Kune Do as an avenue of liberation and enlightenment, transforming not just the individual's martial prowess but their overall human experience.
Our journey is not about seeking knowledge or accumulating patterns, but rather about unveiling the roots of ignorance.

About JKD Unlimited
The Maryland Jeet Kune Dojo, in Savage, Maryland, is a training group of the Jeet Kune Do Unlimited organization, under the pioneering vision of Burton Richardson. JKD Unlimited is deeply rooted in Bruce Lee's philosophy of limitless potential and continuous improvement, particularly in the domain of real street self-defense.
Our dojo is committed providing exceptional, functional training tailored for both beginners and advanced martial artists. We equip our students with the skills required for street self-defense, incorporating progressive resistance into our training methods. This approach ensures a learning environment that is not only safe and educational but also immensely enjoyable.
Our comprehensive training regimen is designed to prepare students for a wide array of self-defense scenarios, including handling multiple attackers, engaging at various ranges—standing, in a clinch, on the ground—as well as dealing with weapons and varying environmental settings. This direct and practical training methodology ensures that if faced with a threatening situation, our students will have the prior experience and confidence to manage effectively.
About the Maryland Jeet Kune Dojo Logo
Created by friend of the dojo Dan Bernardo, the Maryland Jeet Kune Do logo is an outgrowth of the classical Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do logo. The Taiji symbol, commonly called the yin yang in the West, is redrawn as linked Ensō, a Zen symbol that represents an ongoing journey of learning and development.
This emphasizes Jeet Kune Do's often overlooked roots in Zen, and the origins of Maryland Jeet Kune Do as a Zen practice group. The Chinese characters within the Ensō are the Jeet Kune Do motto "以無法為有法，以無限為有限." or "Using no way as way, having no limitation as limitation."
